FD037: Michael Vieira Live at the Panther Room
February 17, 2014 01:40 PM PST
One year ago NY nightlife was put on notice with the introduction of Brooklyn based Output. With a no photos, no bottles policy the focus was immediately shifted to the music. Within the year Output has become the haven for forward thinking music. But its the super cool side room, "The Panther Room" that has really attracted us. To celebrate the 1 year anniversary, Cassy, Doc Martin and Nicolas Matar rocked Output, while Willie Graff, Fred P, and Michael Vieira had the Panther Room grooving all night. We were dancing all the way through Michael's set, and luckily he captured it for our podcast!

"For most of 2013, I have found myself digging through older tracks that I may have previously overlooked and worked them into my sets. But the last couple of months, I have really come across some great new vinyl cuts as well as a ton of promos that I am feeling. After one too many glasses of scotch, I decided to put together a mix exclusively of newer jams. This mix is the way that I would work a longer set in the club, starting deep, progressively moving up to techno before bringing things back to housier realm and ultimately closing with some disco. It was a challenge to do that in 60 minutes, but the aforementioned scotch helped get me there. Hope that you dig!" - Chili Davis
Mixes from Forward Disco residents Sean Cormac & Nocturnal Soul and guests.
After being put on the same bill for a mid-summer jam in their native NYC, Sean Cormac and Nocturnal Soul (Jon S & Alan M) realized they had common ideas for a future endeavor. Soon after, Forward Disco was born. The music policy at all Forward Disco events is simply forward thinking dance music. Not bound by genres or rules, Forward Disco events aim to give guest artists and residents the platform to experiment beyond four to the floor. From disco to nu-disco, house to classic house to low-slung, modern electronica; each event is custom curated with artists and promotion aimed at creating a fun environment.
